Lucas Hoge had such a great impact and following in his hometown of Hubell, Nebraska with his contemporary country songs, that its fifty citizen population raised $2500 for him to make the move to Music City.

Hoge was one of the first artists I saw when I started imagining this whole Adroit Records concept,” says label president Jim Tract.

DIRT (Lucas Hoge, Eddie Kilgallon and Jeff Dayton)

Daddy started everyday in clean work shirt
At the north end of south bound mule
Sun up to supper pourin’ money in that dirt
Sayin’ someday son this’ll all belong to you

And when the builders and the bankers come around
Remember your daddy always stood his ground

Cause it’s my dirt
Here on my shirt
From a days work
Diggin’ out a livin’ again
Where my kids and my crops and my dreams all grow
It ain’t much but by God it’s my home
And on the day my days come to an end
Make sure it’s my dirt, you put me in

Now daddies restin’ underneath that maple in the grove
And I’m south bound on a old John Deer
Holding back the tide triyin to keep this place a float
Well I’m in dirt and debt up to my ears

Mama’s in the kitchen supper’s made
I’m dirty and I’m tired but that’s ok

Cause it’s my dirt
Here on my shirt
From a days work
Diggin’ out a livin’ again
Where my kids and my crops and my dreams all grow
It ain’t much but by God it’s my home
And on the day my days come to an end
Make sure it’s my dirt, you put me in

Ain’t just dirt you’re standin’ on
It’s my way of life
Ain’t no way I’m movin on
Call it faith, call it crazy, call it pride
Cause it’s my dirt

Where my kids and my crops and my dreams all grow
It ain’t much but by God it’s my home
And on the day my days come to an end
Make sure it’s my dirt, you put me in

Yeah this is my dirt

LUCAS HOGE'S FULL BIO

Lucas Hoge had such a great impact and following in his hometown of Hubell, Nebraska with his contemporary country songs, that its fifty citizen population raised $2500 for him to make the move to Music City.

“Hoge was one of the first artists I saw when I started imagining this whole Adroit Records concept,” says label president Jim Tract. “I saw him sit in on a writers round and he just delivered the most amazing vocal on such a well-crafted song. I knew as soon as I heard it, I had to have him sign with Adroit Records.”

According to Hoge, “I love the idea that this label is finding a local connection and focusing on artists that are also songwriters. This mentality was the foundation that launched the industry’s legends.”

Hoge’s rowdy, rockin’ country track “Dirt” leads off  the debut compilation CD “Words & Music Nashville.”
