Growing up in a musical family, Orange, California native Joshua Rush found his roots in country music despite his influences in rock and gospel. “My sister and I used to sing in church all the time,” remembers Rush. “Gospel music and hymns were a big part of my up-bringing.

JOSHUA RUSH'S FULL BIO

Growing up in a musical family, Orange, California native Joshua Rush found his roots in country music despite his influences in rock and gospel. “My sister and I used to sing in church all the time,” remembers Rush. “Gospel music and hymns were a big part of my up-bringing. I grew up where my dad sang in a gospel quartet and also played the trumpet. My mom sang but didn’t like getting out there in front of people.” He adds, “I was always listening to Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard, Ernest Tubb and Buck Owens.”

Rush’s song, “I Found Myself Dancing” is an extremely poignant song and heart felt story that portrays how one can use words to dance around the truth.  “The thing that drives me most,” says Rush, “is that songwriting is something I have always enjoyed doing since I was a kid. I think it’s just in my blood.”

 “I’m looking forward to being part of a team that genuinely loves music as much as I do,” says Rush. “I’m a real fan of the artists on Adroit’s roster.”
