It is with deep sorrow and much regret that we must tell you that Jim Tract, co-founder of Adroit Records, died February 17, 2012 at 7:45 AM.
After a wonderful trip to Rome, he returned to find he had stage 4 Pancreatic cancer which took his life just 22 days later. He was blessed to have had his children with him throughout the night before he passed. Plans for a memorial service will be announced soon.
In the meantime, please visit a site dedicated to Jim, to get updated announcements, post journal entries, memories and wishes you would like to share. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, Jim asked that donations be made to support the Caring Bridge website and/or to feed hungry children.

At Adroit Records, we realize that some of the best music being created on a daily basis is not considered commercially viable and therefore is unavailable to the general public. We believe that music lovers should be provided with an opportunity to experience a broader spectrum of music.
Second Harvest Food Bank Benefits
Adroit Records recently presented live shows at Douglas Corner Cafe, and the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville to benefit hungry children through the Second Harvest Food Bank. Cheley Tackett and her Speakeasy Band, Lisa Carver, Harry Stinson, Craig Monday and Brendan McKinney donated their services. "We collected 83 pounds of food and enough cash to provide 3,200 meals,” reported label president Jim Tract. It was a pretty big return for a minimal effort. All of us here at Adroit encourage you to take action in your community and do something to help children who go to bed at night hungry, through no fault of there own."
A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Friends and Fans, In order to make what I believe to be very special music available to a discerning audience who appreciates the art and craft of songwriting as much as I do, we are introducing our “Value Priced Series” of EP's. I realize the economic conditions are prohibitive when it comes to gambling on new music, which is why we are introducing this line of affordable EP's and CD's. We are so proud of our product and our writers, and so sure you will find something special that will touch your soul, I’m personally offering a money back guarantee on all purchases. When I go into the studio, I go with the consciousness of creating art, and not dumbing down our product to try and fill a spot on any of the current charts. We appreciate your support, and look forward to providing music for the soul, long into the future.
Sincerely, James C. Tract, President Adroit Records
